Fees at St Johns

We know that commiting to counselling and your mental wellbeing is also commiting financially, and so you will always be informed of the fees, and our payment and cancellation policies, before you start sessions.  We also know that the costs can sometimes mean that private therapy with a fully qualified therapist isn't financially possible, and so we also offer our Low Cost Service, staffed by our trainee colleagues. This service is not means tested, so you will not need to provide any financial details to access the service.  In addition, some of our therapists may offer concessionary rates, so if cost is putting you off accessing the therapy that could help you, please get in touch to enquire about these services.

Payment methods

At John's operates a pre-payment policy, so each session is paid for in advance - usually payments are made in the session for the next appointment.  Payment for the initial appointment will be by bank transfer, and you will discuss in your first meeting how future payments can be made - usually electronically (eg BACS, card payment), or cash.

Cancellation Policy

Please let your therapist know as soon as possible if you are unable to attend a scheduled session, as appointments cancelled or re-arranged with more than 48 hours notice incur no charge.

Cancellations between 24 and 48 hours notice will incur a charge of 50% of the usual session fee, and cancellations with less than 24 hours notice incur the full fee.  If this happens, payment of the cancellation fee will need to be made before any further appointments will be confirmed.
