Dave Latham

Dave is a registered NCPS Counsellor with over 12 years of experience, working with adults and young people. He has extensive training and experience working with :

  • Schools-Children (and with Special Educational needs) families with children diagnosed with ADHD or Autism.
  • Pre/Post-Bereavement (including support of Children 8 years and above)
  • Families affected by the Condition MND (Patients and Family members).

In addition, Dave is now offering Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) - this is a form of talk psychotherapy which uses mindfulness as one of its main tools. At the heart of ACT is the goal of helping you live a more meaningful and productive life by developing what it refers to as “psychological flexibility”. This is essentially about learning to accept what you can’t control, and then recognising and committing to taking the actions that will improve your life and moods. ACT therapy can be offered as either a short-term therapy or long-term therapy, depending on what your requirements are.

Along with his counselling training David is also trained in Health and Social Care and is a SAIF Bereavement Care Associate Counsellor. He is experienced with Relationship / Family Support Issues, Addictions (including Gambling issues), Child Protection Issues, Cancer Related Illnesses (supporting Patient and Family Member), and working with Single/Separated Fathers.

Availability: Various days and evenings throughout the week, including Saturdays
